Filmmusik in Agonie

Agony

Feature film | Director: David Clay Diaz (2016)

A young man in Vienna murders his girlfriend, dismembers her body and disposes of the body parts in various dumpsters around the city. In the search for the perpetrator and the motive for the crime, two young men come into the picture: 17-year-old Alex, son of a police officer, and 24-year-old law student Christian. The seemingly ordinary everyday life of one of them leads to the gruesome murder.

“Agony” is not only the title of the film, but exactly the emotion described by the music in Agony. The sparse main theme is performed by a string septet and piano. The gesture of the film music in Agonie is reminiscent of pieces for chamber ensembles from classical music.
